From our Legendary Travelers...

 From a flippin Canadian...

“The Lanka Challenge is the best way to test your fortitude, see a  country ‘off the beaten track’ and interact with locals, which results in an unforgettable experience. It was great fun, and such a unique way to see the country. Wonderful friendships were forged, an insight into Sri Lanka was achieved, and memories made for a lifetime”.

“People keep asking me about the Cambo Challenge and I think I've nailed what makes it so incomparable for me, it's all about the human interactions. The group were fun, switched on, non-competitive and from all over the map. The challenges got us past our barriers and into authentic Cambodian communities and interactions. The LM team were smart, creative, playful and good times. Traveling by tuk tuk was crazy, liberating and totally engaging with your surroundings, and Cambodia itself...half confronting, half embracing and incomparable throughout. We loved it.”

From an American newcomer...

"As a newcomer to Colombia, my impressions of the country had been confined to the city of Bogotá prior to my weekend trip with More Local. Exploring the town of Guasca, Guatavita, and many sites along the way was therefore an incredibly eye-opening experience that added so many dimensions to my positive perception of Colombia.

My idea of cultural immersion is not paying for an overpriced trip on a jam-packed bus with other tourists, and so More Local absolutely exceeded my hopes for a truly local travel experience. The local relationships that the guys at More Local have worked hard to develop made this possible, as I never would have (or could have) had such a rewarding and enlightening experience on my own.

From a noodle lover - what a fantasy...

“Who needs a tour guide when you can make your own way around Sri Lanka? Lanka Challenge was a fun-filling-10-day-trip with Amazing People from all over the world. LC is definitively one of the world's most adventurous activities. It’s not only about winning the Challenge but also about helping the kind people of Sri Lanka. It offers you a chance to absorb the Lankan culture and eventually turn into one of them for a while. Believe me when I say that Large Minority's people will make you do things Lankan style. LM has done it this time and I am sure they will do it again... Two thumbs up for the good people at Large Minority and those who participated in the event in 2009”.

 From a true Aussie...

“2009’s Lanka Challenge was undoubtedly one of the best experiences of my life.  Incredibly well organised, a tonne of fun, and an adventure that I will never forget.  Such a great way to see such an incredible country, Im sure Ill be returning in the next few years for a second shot at the Lanka title.  I'm doubly looking forward to the Cambodia Challenge and any other adventure the team put together.  Thanks for such an incredible journey”.

From the US of A!

"My Amazonian adventure with More Local was like stepping into a dream for a week…every minute of this trip was a magical, out of this world experience - from fishing for piranhas, to playing football with village kids from a tiny community of 250 people, to snatching Caymans from the river in the middle of the night, to traversing the imaginary borders between the remote jungles and rivers of Peru, Brazil and Colombia via crazy modes of transportation.

It would be impossible to access this level of intimate local life without the expertise and organization of the LARGE minority team and most importantly, the mutual relationships they have fostered with the local families, communities and businesses in the Amazon. These guys are passionate about sharing the splendor of their country with travelers while simultaneously supporting local projects to ensure the sustainability of this type of tourism. The Amazon experience is simply a must for anyone living or traveling in Colombia!"

From a Proud South African...

"The Lanka Challenge is a highy recommended lifetime experience, that allows you to explore a culture, a country and their people, in a very real, genuine, non mass-tourist way. It allows you to connect with locals in a way that is honest and open and makes the experience unique. Travelling in a Tuk Tuk gives you so many travelling advantages of seeing a country slowly, stopping and engaging with locals, driving and learning new cultures and practising those cultures everyday."

Megan Macnab (South African), Team Desmond Tuk Tuk

From a top dude...

“One of my most memorable life experiences.  LM managed to strike the perfect balance between organisation rigour and genuine personal adventure. Their attention to detail, which was unflappable, did not in any way hinder the personal freedom and liberation of seeing the beautiful country, which is Sri Lanka, from the drivers’ seat of a tuk-tuk.  We had the freedom to travel in our own time, interacting with the local flavour and culture from the disarming and conversational starting position of a tuk-tuk while knowing help, if required, was just a local call away and that our nights accommodation and meal was already organised to highest of standards.  A great feat of organisational skill.  I look forward to the next installation”.

    Out of Africa!

“The Cambo Challenge gave me the opportunity to see the heart of a country, not just the frills. The frills are similar in any tourist destination. Seeing what's underneath is the real beauty of travelling! I truly loved the experience that Large Minority offers!”

David Hendricks (South African), Team Afrika.

Mr. Encore

"Who else can claim they have circumnavigated Sri Lanka and Cambodia driving a Rickshaw? Or bought fuel in a coke bottle whilst wearing pyjamas? I truly believe there is no better way to see a complete country and get down with the local culture. You just can't do this on a tour. Make no mistake, this is a mentally and physically challenging adventure that will test you in many ways. The social side plays the biggest part - we made a great group of friends and every night was a party. Large Minority gave us an expertly planned fully-inclusive holiday which would be nearly impossible to organise on your own, all for a great price and still supporting local charities.

Bring on the next location!”
